Privacy Policy
Last updated July 2026
This policy explains what Card HQ collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep it plain, and we keep collection to what the app actually needs.
What we collect
- Account details: your email or the identifier from Sign in with Apple or Google, and a display name and optional avatar you set.
- Your collection: the cards you add, scan, or import, with condition, quantity, and notes.
- Subscription status: whether you are on Free, a trial, or Pro. Payment itself is handled by Apple; we never see your card number.
- Basic app usage and diagnostics to keep the app fast and fix bugs.
- A device identifier for the notifications you turn on (such as price alerts). It is not used to track you across other apps.
Your camera
Scanning happens entirely on your device. Card HQ reads the text on a card locally to identify it. Photos of your cards are not uploaded to our servers and are not stored by the app after a scan.
How we use it
- To provide the core service: identify cards, price them, track your collection, and sync it across your devices.
- To operate your subscription and unlock Pro features.
- To improve the app, prioritize fixes, and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your collection for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that make the app work, under agreements that limit their use of your data:
- Our hosting and database provider, which stores your account and collection.
- Apple, which processes subscription payments and manages free-trial eligibility.
- A trading-card data provider, which supplies market prices and card details. We send card identifiers, not your personal data.
Storage and security
Your data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure and encrypted in transit. Access to your collection is scoped to your account. No system is perfectly secure, but we design for least access and keep it tight.
Your choices and rights
- Access or edit your collection any time in the app.
- Export your collection from Settings.
- Delete your account, which removes your account and collection data from our systems.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access or delete your data. Email us and we will help.
Children
Card HQ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes and contact
We will post any changes here and update the date above. Questions or requests? Email support@cardhq.app.
